It's only since 1949 that we've been part of Canada. We have strong ties to England here, and a lot of Newfoundlanders have shed blood on European soil in defence of England and in defence of Europe and we deserve far better treatment than we are now receiving from the E-U.\"   \u003cbr/\u003eSUPER CAPTION: Reg Ansty, Vice-President  Fishermen's Union\u003cbr/\u003eWilliam Morry took his disgust with the European Union one step further.\u003cbr/\u003eThe local fish processor wrote a letter directly to a national Sunday newspaper in London, asking for British support for Canada.\u003cbr/\u003eMorry, who's processing plant was forced to close recently,  received an avalanche of mail supporting the plight of the Canadian fishermen. \u003cbr/\u003eMany were addressed merely to \"Bill Morry, Fisherman, Newfoundland, Canada\".      \u003cbr/\u003eMorry says he hopes the responses to his letter will result in a firm stance by the U-K government.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I was not expecting this kind of reaction to be as strong as it was, and it is.
