We considered he was a relevant figure to highlight,\" she added.\u003cbr/\u003eIn 1955, Fidel Castro entered the country as a tourist, telling authorities that he was on holiday and that the purpose of his trip was to \"rest.\"\u003cbr/\u003eIt was later revealed that Castro used his time in Mexico to organise the group of rebels who took a boat to Cuba in 1956 to launch the rebellion against dictator Fulgencio Batista. However, the Mexican authorities have no proof of his actions.\u003cbr/\u003eThe exhibit also shows how in 1929, while he was fighting a US military occupation of Nicaragua, Augusto Cesar Sandino was granted permission to enter the country by then President Emilio Portes Gil.\u003cbr/\u003eAlso on display is Trotsky's immigration form. He came to Mexico in 1937 using painter Diego Rivera as a reference.\u003cbr/\u003eThe exhibition is a tiny sample of the nearly 500,000 records the institute holds in its archives.\u003cbr/\u003eThe migration records will be on display until the end of November.\u003cbr/\u003eSome are machine-stamped, others filled out by hand.\u003cbr/\u003eSome include photos, such as one showing a young Castro with a moustache but not yet a beard.\u003cbr/\u003eAnother shows Trotsky, with the white beard, moustache and round glasses that he had until his death at the hands of an assassin in Mexico.\u003cbr/\u003e1.
