I think it's also a way of supporting the efforts of President Mbeki and the countries of the region to try to bring a solution to the very serious and dramatic situation in Zimbabwe,\" he said, echoing a recurrent concern of the European leaders.\u003cbr/\u003eKufuor said the organisation supports mediation efforts among Zimbabwe's main political parties being led by South African President Thabo Mbeki and aimed at political reform. \u003cbr/\u003eBut he insisted that meddling from outside Africa would be unhelpful.\u003cbr/\u003eAfrican Union Commission President Alpha Oumar Konare, also present at the news conference, emphasised the strength of a united Africa.\u003cbr/\u003e\"African strength is unity.
