She also performed at the opening of the Paralympic Games, two weeks later.\u003cbr/\u003eThe pop singer reckons the likes of Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Blur and Duran Duran should prepare to feel amazed.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I certainly have some advice, just brace yourself,\" Minogue says. \"I still am thrilled at the memory of performing there because, doing it in your own country, there's such a sense of pride that you're hosting the Olympics, and then to be at the centre stage of the event is just extraordinary.\"\u003cbr/\u003eShe's not involved this year - but still looking forward to the Games.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I'm preparing for Olympic fever, I'm sure I'll be swept up in it, I can't wait.\"\u003cbr/\u003eMinogue was talking at the Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef Awards in London - where she was honored for her 25 years in show-business.\u003cbr/\u003eOther honorees at this year's awards included Norman Cook who spoke of his pride that Olympics were being held in his home country.\u003cbr/\u003e\"There is something about the Olympics that galvanises pride in our country and pride in the kind of show that we can put on. So it is not just about who can run fastest or jump highest, it is about having some pride in your country and I am very proud of that,\" said Cook.\u003cbr/\u003eWelsh rockers, The Manic Street Preachers revealed that, while they've long been obsessed with the sporting event, they wont be involved in any of the celebrations that are taking place.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We will be watching it,\" said lead singer James Dean Bradfield, \"we won't be getting involved in any of the peripheral stuff, it is kind of funny watching a lot of bands get involved in it.
