We're here to do our  duty, we have a good staff, good people helping us, and that's really all I can say.\"\u003cbr/\u003eSUPER CAPTION: Stephen Jones, Defence Attorney\u003cbr/\u003eMcVeigh's defence began with witnesses casting doubt on a cornerstone of the  prosecution's case - that McVeigh rented the bomb-carrying Ryder truck two days  before the Oklahoma City blast.\u003cbr/\u003eBut witnesses claim to have seen the truck at least three days before.\u003cbr/\u003eThe defence team is also trying to suggest that the \"real bomber\" died in the Oklahoma  City blast.\u003cbr/\u003eTo back that up, attorneys for McVeigh questioned the Oklahoma State Medical  Examiner, Fred Jordan. \u003cbr/\u003eJordan testified that a severed left leg had been found which was matched with a victim  who had already been buried with the wrong leg. \u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English)\u003cbr/\u003e\"The defence has got off to a very strong start. They had to. They have to play some  catch-up, and they have to do it now. Standing alone, four witnesses saying a Ryder  truck was there on Sunday is not going to be enough. But the defence is going further.  Now they are attempting to show that there was an unexplained left leg, an extra body  part, which is consistent, they will argue, with the suicide mission of the individual really  inside the Ryder truck.
