Various of traders on the streets\u003cbr/\u003eLocal Zimbabweans in Harare said on Saturday they were using dirty drinking water because they had no other option, despite the threat of a cholera epidemic that has already killed hundreds.\u003cbr/\u003eAt least 500 died people since an outbreak in August, according to official figures.\u003cbr/\u003eOfficials warn that deaths from the infectious water-borne disease could spiral into the thousands due to the complete collapse of Zimbabwe's health system, the scarcity of food and the oncoming rainy season, which may help spread infections.\u003cbr/\u003eTeresa Dambiza, a resident of the high density suburb Glenorain in Harare said she had not had water in her home since April so her only option had been to collect dirty-coloured water from a well nearby.\u003cbr/\u003eDambiza said at times she couldn't cook with the water nor drink it - \"it will be smelling like sewage\", she said.\u003cbr/\u003eShe said she's afraid of catching cholera but the well was the only available source of water for her.  \u003cbr/\u003eShe said she didn't have money to buy water disinfectant pills and had to use it as it came for drinking, cooking, making tea, and for cleaning.\u003cbr/\u003eMeanwhile, Kenya's prime minister said on Sunday that foreign troops should prepare to intervene in Zimbabwe to end the worsening humanitarian crisis and Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe should be investigated for crimes against humanity.\u003cbr/\u003eRaila Odinga urged the African Union (AU) to call an emergency meeting to authorise sending troops into Zimbabwe. \u003cbr/\u003eHe slammed other African leaders for being slow to criticise Zimbabwe, saying they had shamed the continent by treating Mugabe with \"kid gloves\" because Mugabe had supported their liberation struggles.\u003cbr/\u003eOdinga said Mugabe had reduced a once prosperous country to a \"basket case\" and warned \"Mugabe's case deserves no less than investigations by the International Criminal Court at The Hague\".\u003cbr/\u003eHe declined to say whether Kenya was ready to send troops. \u003cbr/\u003eThe AU and UN are already overstretched in Africa, unable to fulfil commitments in Sudan's Darfur region or war-ravaged Somalia.\u003cbr/\u003eOdinga is the latest in a series of world leaders, including Botswana's Foreign Minister Phandu Skelemani, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and the Uganda-born Anglican Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, to call on Mugabe to step down.\u003cbr/\u003eAlthough it was once one of Africa's most prosperous nations, Zimbabwe's economy has almost completely collapsed.\u003cbr/\u003eElections held last March were widely denounced after murderous attacks on the opposition, and Mugabe reluctantly joined a power-sharing government designed by international mediators. \u003cbr/\u003eBut
