Close-up of Dakwar at his desk\u003cbr/\u003eThe United States has reacted with \"disappointment\" to a key United Nations (UN) panel which on Friday urged the US to close its prison at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, because the indefinite detention of terror suspects there violates the world's ban on torture.\u003cbr/\u003eThe report by the UN Committee Against Torture on US compliance with the global ban on prisoner abuse came as the US military disclosed that prisoners wielding improvised weapons clashed with guards trying to stop one of four detainees from attempting suicide at the prison.\u003cbr/\u003eThe fight occurred on Thursday in a medium-security section of the camp as guards were responding to the fourth attempted suicide that day at the detention centre on the U.S. Navy base.\u003cbr/\u003eOfficials said detainees used fans, light fixtures and other improvised weapons to attack the guards as they entered a communal living area to stop a prisoner trying to hang himself.\u003cbr/\u003eEarlier in the day, three detainees in another part of the prison attempted suicide by swallowing prescription medicine they had been hoarding.\u003cbr/\u003eUS State Department spokesman Sean McCormack disputed the finding saying, \"we don't think the Commission really took into account all the information provided to it in terms of changes in policy, changes in laws, changes in procedures.\"\u003cbr/\u003eUS President George W.
