Medium of reporters\u003cbr/\u003e A U.S. federal judge in Chicago has shut down a worldwide spamming operation that involved countries from New Zealand to China to the United States.\u003cbr/\u003eSteve Baker of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) told reporters in Chicago today that the court also froze assets of the operation. And he says those involved could face criminal charges.\u003cbr/\u003eBaker says the operation sent out billions of e-mails encouraging people to click through to professional-looking Web sites, including one called \"Canadian Healthcare.\" \u003cbr/\u003eThe sites sold prescription drugs and bogus \"male enhancement\" pills.\u003cbr/\u003eThe FTC says the drugs were shipped from India. And operatives in Cyprus processed credit card information.\u003cbr/\u003eFTC officials say those leading the operation included an American and a New Zealand citizen.\u003cbr/\u003eFederal authorities in Chicago said on Tuesday they've shut down one of the largest spam e-mail operations in the world.\u003cbr/\u003eThe FTC said authorities closed the operation by working with their
