Wide of Sublime show as with models posing across stage as lights go on\u003cbr/\u003eNeon colours, flowing lines and intricate stitching have graced the catwalks of Lahore's Fashion Week. \u003cbr/\u003eFor one well known designer, Sara Shahid, the event comes after months of hard work.\u003cbr/\u003eCitrus flavours and a riot of hot, bold patterns - this is the 5th Lahore Fashion Week.\u003cbr/\u003eThe industry is still in its infancy in Pakistan, but the signs look promising. In Lahore, there are some two dozen designers doing shows and having their own standalone stores. \u003cbr/\u003eOne designer from Lahore, Sara Shahid, is presenting a bold Spring/Summer collection,  which is supposed to inject colour into the otherwise depressing current state of affairs in Pakistan.  \u003cbr/\u003eHer collection is bright and eye-catching, intense yellows and fuchsias dot the catwalk.\u003cbr/\u003e\"My inspiration was essentially about living for the moment, about knowing that now is all you've got, essentially. The past is over, the future we don't know, so it's all about now, which is why it was called, \"Now Summer Sublime 2013\" I took a bold step, I did neons, I did brights, I went all out because that was my mood, and I go with my gut and I did it tonight.\"\u003cbr/\u003eFashion related events in Pakistan go on with an air of insecurity; often quietly marketed in a few selected publications.\u003cbr/\u003eInvites are sent out to personal acquaintances, members of the media and a decent few are given to corporations who sponsor such events. \u003cbr/\u003eThe target is Pakistan's rich elite, who are more inclined towards secularism and have the money to afford expensive wardrobes. The idea is to maintain some semblance of harmony and normality. \u003cbr/\u003ePakistan's senior fashion journalist Amna Haider Isani says that the industry is still fairly small, but going mainstream. \u003cbr/\u003e\"Fashion has really regularised the entire industry. So five years ago, 10 years ago there was barely a discipline to the industry. We had a lot of garage designers, everybody was a designer, there was no concept of doing a collection, no concept of being reviewed, but now it's all become very systematic, and that makes the process from catwalk to retail a lot more fluent.\"\u003cbr/\u003eBackstage Sara Shahid is giving the final touches to her garments , explaining as she goes along, her philosophy and how she thinks the model should carry the particular dress.\u003cbr/\u003eShahid's designs seem practical and prudent. Women cannot always feel comfortable wearing more revealing outfits in Pakistan and she bears that in mind. \u003cbr/\u003eHer collection is a success at the show. \u003cbr/\u003eIt took her several months  to prepare for the wave of fashion shows and other related events to hit the country's calendar.\u003cbr/\u003eIntricate designs are embroidered into fabrics ranging from cotton, silks, wool and georgette. \u003cbr/\u003eSpecial stitching machines with finer needles work at high speeds with equally skilled tailors, each of them pitting their skills against their counterparts in other design houses across the country.\u003cbr/\u003eIt's a very laborious process:\u003cbr/\u003e\"Most of the cutting happens here.
