It's certainly a fact, disappointing perhaps because it has been 25 years and we haven't gone back. There's always going to be one first man on the moon and that's Neil Armstrong, but there's going to be lots and lots of last men and women who follow.\"\u003cbr/\u003eSUPER CAPTION: Captain Eugene Cernan, Commander, Apollo 17\u003cbr/\u003eThe Lunar Module pilot of the Apollo 17 mission, Jack Schmidt, is a geologist. \u003cbr/\u003eHe advocates going back to the moon because it contains alternative sources of energy that could be used to send humans to the planets. \u003cbr/\u003eHe also says the technology now available makes space exploration much more feasible than it was 25 years ago.\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English)\u003cbr/\u003e\"We do not have, after 30 years of space flight, either we nor the former Soviet Union, the Russians, have an adequate - even a scientifically credible understanding of human adaptation to space. We have blown that one.
