There is a lot of romance in the Arabian culture, so I just think it's a perfect fit for us,\" says Diamont.\u003cbr/\u003eThe crew of the show, which has just celebrated its 27th anniversary, also filmed down the coast in the United Arab Emirates capital of Abu Dhabi.\u003cbr/\u003eSome scenes there were shot at the Emirates Palace hotel, an opulent beachfront complex that is arguably the city's swankiest place to sleep. \u003cbr/\u003eIt's a popular stopover spot for visiting royalty and heads of state, as well as deep-pocketed tourists stopping by to pick up a pricey souvenir from its gold bar vending machine.\u003cbr/\u003e\"The Bold and the Beautiful\" has filmed overseas before, in countries including Italy, Mexico and Australia, but the UAE is the farthest the show has traveled from its Los Angeles base.\u003cbr/\u003eThis particular jaunt came about thanks to lead actress Lang.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I signed up for the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon, \" she explained. \"I asked Brad (Bell) for that week off and he said 'well since you're going to do that, maybe we'll join you and come over and join you and shoot some episodes there.' And it all just sounded like a great idea, so we here we are.\"\u003cbr/\u003eCast members shot scenes for nine episodes during three days.\u003cbr/\u003eIn the show, Don Diamont's Bill Spencer takes Lang's character, Brooke Logan, to the Emirates to get married. While the two leads were reluctant to give away too many plot details, the show's head writer Bradley Bell was more than happy to spill the beans.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We're shooting a wedding that goes a bit wrong, as they tend to do on 'The Bold and the Beautiful,'\" he said.\u003cbr/\u003eLang's character has been married so many times on the show that even she can't remember the exact number.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I don't count anymore,\" she said.\u003cbr/\u003e\"The Bold and the Beautiful\" has a large international following, watched by millions of viewers in more than 100 countries.\u003cbr/\u003eIt has been popular for years across the Arab world, though competition has grown as viewers tune in to increasingly popular Turkish soap operas and round-the-clock news and movie channels.\u003cbr/\u003eEpisodes of the soap opera air three times a day on the Dubai One satellite network.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Many people have come up and they're just very nice. Asking for a photo and saying how much they love the show and how they've grown up with the show,\" Lang says. \"And they remember sitting in front of the TV, watching since they were little babies. So it's nice, it's a very nice, good compliment.\"  \u003cbr/\u003eFor the Emirates, the three-day shoot is an opportunity to help develop the local entertainment industry. Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the country's two biggest cities, have each been working to entice filmmakers to the country.\u003cbr/\u003eA large part of 2011's \"Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol\" was shot in Dubai and scenes for the forthcoming \"Fast \u0026amp;amp; Furious 7\" will be shot in Abu Dhabi in April.\u003cbr/\u003eEpisodes of \"The Bold and the Beautiful\" shot in the Emirates are expected to air in the U.S. in late May.\u003cbr/\u003eAP Entertainment\u003cbr/\u003eDubai, 17 March 2014 \u003cbr/\u003e1.
