Japanese researchers have discovered a way of attaching a device to a cockroach's back that could have industrial uses, such as inspecting narrow spaces.\u003cbr/\u003eThe idea has been worked out by a team at the University of Tokyo's\u003cbr/\u003eMechanico-Informatics Department and Tsukuba University biologists.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe process involved stimulating the pests with electricity -- 200 electric pulses per second -- and heat through tiny circuits inserted into their backs. Their movements were guided by remote control. They moved right, left, forward and backward according to commands received by their antennae from the control device.\u003cbr/\u003eIsao Shimoyama, an associate professor at the University of Tokyo,
