Over the shoulder of virtual reality exercise demo\u003cbr/\u003eVolunteers are being asked to take part in a virtual reality experiment as a cow.\u003cbr/\u003eThe simulation leads them from the pastures, to fattening up, all the way to the slaughter house - in order to see if the experience enhances their ability to empathise. \u003cbr/\u003eAt first glance this small lab on Stanford University's campus might look very clinical.\u003cbr/\u003eBut after gearing up in the right equipment it becomes a virtual pasture.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Lab announcer says: \"Please turn to your right and you will see a haystack. It is time for you to feed.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe experiment at the virtual human interactive lab puts volunteers in the shoes...or in this case, the hooves... of a virtual cow.\u003cbr/\u003eAfter getting fattened up the volunteers feels simulated cattle prods as they're led away to slaughter.\u003cbr/\u003eThe lab announcer says: \"The truck has arrived and it's time for you to go to the slaughterhouse.
