Ebadi leaving\u003cbr/\u003eNobel laureate and Iranian human rights activist Shirin Ebadi insisted on Thursday that Iran's nuclear programme was not a threat, but urged Tehran to open up to persuade the international community that it is not building a bomb.\u003cbr/\u003eEbadi, known for her struggle for women's rights in Iran, said the Iranian government \"must attract the international community's confidence in the fact that they only have a peaceful use for nuclear energy.\"\u003cbr/\u003e\"Unfortunately the Iranian regime is not a democratic one and as a result they cannot have faith in the politics of this regime,\" Ebadi said at the International Press Club in Paris.\u003cbr/\u003eEbadi, 58, a veteran human rights and democracy activist, was the first Iranian and first clerical rulers who took over in the Islamic revolution of 1979. \u003cbr/\u003eIn the past, she has criticised the talks between the European Union and Iran for diverting attention from human rights issues in her country.\u003cbr/\u003eThe United States and some European countries fear Iran is using its nuclear energy programme to build weapons.\u003cbr/\u003eIran on Thursday rejected as \"unjust\" a decision by the UN nuclear watchdog agency to refer its nuclear programme file to the UN Security Council, and said it won't be bullied into abandoning its pursuit of nuclear
