They are not in a very favourable position when it comes to benefitting from international moneys. Most of the, much of the international resources have been directed by industrialised countries towards Africa, towards Asia. Among the homosexual population 80 to 90 percent use condoms. We want condoms to be an arm in defence of life.\" \u003cbr/\u003eSUPER CAPTION: Pedro Cherquer, Aids National Programme coordinator in Brazil\u003cbr/\u003eThe children at Brazil's Viva Cazuza Society home are not the usual image associated with AIDS victims - but the toddlers are all suffering from exposure to the H-I-V virus.\u003cbr/\u003eThey are among the many kinds of victims that researchers want included in future studies to allow the tracking of current trends involving the H-I-V virus. \u003cbr/\u003eConference participants stressed that it was no longer enough just to look at death statistics for information - the studies have to include the impact of the disease on the living. \u003cbr/\u003eOverall, almost 92-thousand people have died from AIDS in Latin America. \u003cbr/\u003eIn the Latin Caribbean countries, including Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Haiti, almost 16-hundred have died while another seven-thousand have died in the Caribbean countries.  \u003cbr/\u003eMany experts now say it's time to start educating the youth, instead of bowing to pressure from religious groups to keep sexual education out of the schools. \u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English)\u003cbr/\u003e\"Contrary to the general believe, early sexual education in young people does not lower the age of the first sexual intercourse. It does not stimulate young people to engage in sex. On the contrary, it is an extremely supportive type of approach that will lead to a much better, much safer sexual behaviour among young people.
