but their message means war.\u003cbr/\u003eThese children are just a small handful of the (m) millions of child workers across Asia.\u003cbr/\u003eOn Thursday, the former child labourers - who once worked in sweatshops from Cambodia to Nepal - were given a hero's welcome in New Delhi.\u003cbr/\u003eThey were greeted by hundreds of other children, rescued from factories, stone quarries and other hazardous industries.\u003cbr/\u003eThe group of 37 children and their adult supporters are taking part in a global march which has already taken in a string of Asian countries. \u003cbr/\u003eTheir procession meandered through the bustling traffic to converge in a bid to highlight their plight to the Indian government.\u003cbr/\u003eDespite a 1976 law banning child slavery, India still has the largest number of child workers - about  50 (m) to 100 (m) million.\u003cbr/\u003eIt's estimated there are as many as 250 (m) million child workers aged five to 14 worldwide.\u003cbr/\u003eMany are believed to be working as bonded labourers working for years without wages to pay off family debts.\u003cbr/\u003eThe global marchers, who are sponsored by the United Nations' Children Fund, is making its way through Asia in a bid to persuade governments to tighten child labour laws throughout the world. \u003cbr/\u003eThey have already walked from the Philippines through Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Bangladesh and Nepal.\u003cbr/\u003eThey will leave for Pakistan on April 13 and continue through Iran and Turkey before ending in Geneva, Switzerland in June.\u003cbr/\u003eThe children and marchers hope that, like Mahatma Gandhi, their efforts will persuade governments to make their cause a priority.\u003cbr/\u003eAlso throwing their weight behind the global march is Bianca Jagger - a human rights campaigner and ex-wife of Rolling Stones singer, Mick Jagger - and Kerry Kennedy Cuomo, head of the Rbert F.
