At the moment it's unknown exactly what is occurring there, where the AQT (al-Qaida Taliban) and, more to the point, what the warlords there are doing.\"\u003cbr/\u003eMeanwhile, US troops are busy operating in the heart (inside)of Afghanistan.\u003cbr/\u003eHere, the American 10th Airborne Division conducts mortar firing training exercises, on the lookout for any sign of the enemy.\u003cbr/\u003eTroops are also a stabilising force, but according to the US army spokesman in Bagram, they also have a role that's similar to that of a pest exterminator.\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English) Major Bryan Hilferty, US Spokesman in Bagram:\u003cbr/\u003e\"If you get a house and it's infested with cockroaches and you call an exterminator and he kills all the cockroaches, and you bring him back a week later and there are none left, no cockroaches left, one, you don't say it's a failure and two, it doesn't mean you don't bring him back. You need the exterminator to keep coming back to make sure the cockroaches don't return.\"\u003cbr/\u003eUPSOUND - Gunfire\u003cbr/\u003eCoalition officials have warned that al-Qaida and Taliban fighters sneaking across the border may attempt to launch insurgency attacks, including suicide bombings, to disrupt meetings to choose Afghanistan's transitional government.\u003cbr/\u003eThe mission
