SOUNDBITE: (English) Nicholas Valner, Apple Corps lawyer\u003cbr/\u003e\"When the two Apple companies reached their agreements in October 1991 over future use of the Apple names and marks, they did so on the clear basis that Apple Computer would be unable to use these on or in connection with pre-recorded music. That was to remain the exclusive province of the Beatles'' company Apple Corps. The launch by Apple Computer of its i-tunes website selling pre-recorded music, coupled with its extensive marketing and advertising campaign, clearly, in our view, broke that agreement - because the Apple name and logos were, and are, used extensively in connection with pre-recorded music. Commenting on the judgement handed down today by Mr Justice Mann, Neil Aspinall, manager of Apple Corps, has asked me to say as follows: \"With great respect to the trial judge, we consider he has reached the wrong conclusion. We felt that during the course of the trial we clearly demonstrated just how extensively Apple Computer had broken the agreement. We will accordingly be filing an appeal and putting the case again to the Court of Appeal.\"\u003cbr/\u003e8.  Reporters surround Apple Corps lawyer\u003cbr/\u003eThe Beatles'' record label Apple Corps lost a landmark legal case Monday over the use of their iconic apple logo. \u003cbr/\u003eThe record label was suing Apple Computer which uses a similar logo. \u003cbr/\u003eThe companies agreed in 1991 not to intrude into each other''s businesses.\u003cbr/\u003eApple Corps would market Beatles music, while Apple Computer would market computers. \u003cbr/\u003eBut after Apple Computer launched its i-tunes music store, offering downloadable music onto i-pods and similar devices, Apple Corps claimed the agreement was being breached.\u003cbr/\u003eHowever, London High Court judge Mr Justice Mann disagreed. Handing down judgment on Monday , he said Apple Computer was entitled to continue using its apple logo to promote the i-tunes music store.\u003cbr/\u003eThe logo was being used in connection with the store, not the music itself, he ruled. \u003cbr/\u003eAfter the hearing, Apple Corps lawyer Nicholas Valner read a statement on behalf of Apple Corps manager Neil Aspinall, a former Beatles road
