Once part of a thriving metropolis of 15 thousand, now the only people who come here are visitors. The Teotihuacan civilisation vanished around 13 hundred years ago and archaeologists and historians want to know why.\u003cbr/\u003e0022 Now a team of researchers have made a discovery which could shed light on that culture and may eventually help explain why it died out. They've unearthed human skulls, dating back two-thousand years. Researchers believe they were beheaded and possibly victims of human sacrifice. \u003cbr/\u003e0040 \"This latest find is made up of 17 human skulls,\" the site's curator explains.  \"The first vertebrae was still attached to the skulls, which makes us this these people were beheaded.\"\u003cbr/\u003e0058 In the past scientists ruled out the possibility of human sacrifice in Teotihuacan but this find suggests they were wrong.   More research must be done on the skulls to determine the gender and age of the victims.
