This is a really big deal for the industry.  It's great to see that two countries were able to come together and come to agreement on some rules that are going to make trade so much easier between the two countries,\" said organic farmer Jenny Lester Moffitt.\u003cbr/\u003ePacific rim states such as California and Oregon will see an almost immediate jump in sales of organic products.\u003cbr/\u003eThe agreement is similar to a 2009 deal with Canada and a 2012 deal with the European Union.\u003cbr/\u003eAt the Natural Products Expo trade show floor, there was an anticipation of increased flow of US products to Japan, as well as higher profits for organic producers.\u003cbr/\u003eSteve Crider, international Sales Manager for Amy's Kitchen, a California-based organic company that sells frozen entrees and\u003cbr/\u003ecanned soups, said his company's sales have increased \"dramatically\" since the EU market was opened up last year.\u003cbr/\u003eCrider said his company had not been selling very many products to Japan because it would have had to certify that every single one of the many ingredients in its products are up to Japan's standards.\u003cbr/\u003eHe welcomed Thursday's agreement.\u003cbr/\u003eThe organics sector in the United States and Japan has a combined value of around 36 (b) billion US dollars, and rising each year.\u003cbr/\u003eJapan imports a wide variety of organics from the United States, including soybeans, specialty crops like cauliflower and nuts, and processed products like frozen meals. \u003cbr/\u003eUnder the agreement, US organic products sold there will now carry the USDA organic seal.\u003cbr/\u003eAnd \"value added products\" such as frozen organic pizzas and other meals can be sent to Japan.\u003cbr/\u003e1.
