Organizers say the event was the first in a series of town halls on world issues and Carter Center programs.\u003cbr/\u003eCarter says he thinks the United States has made a wise decision in launching an aerial attack on Islamic State forces, and that an effective air assault could lead the group to begin moving major equipment from Iraq into Syria.\u003cbr/\u003eCarter also took questions on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, marijuana decriminalization in the United States and more.\u003cbr/\u003eAtlanta - 16 September 2014\u003cbr/\u003e1. And so, I don't  think he's going to be deterred from trying to make sure that we don't see the country from go back into the European Union orbit. And, that is to go back to the 1967 borders with some modifications of that area to permit the Israeli settlements that have already been formed to stay there and to swap the same amount of land from Israel to the Palestinians. And, for Israel to withdraw from the occupied territories. Those are the two basic things on which the whole world agrees -- with the exception of Israel, as I might say.
