(Dec. 3)\u003cbr/\u003e [Notes:ANCHOR VOICE]  \u003cbr/\u003eAs Plaxico Burress's future with the New York Giants and in the N-F-L remains in limbo, gun dealers and safety advocates are rushing to get their points across.\u003cbr/\u003eSOT Jay Williams Former NFL Player\u003cbr/\u003ePlaxico is a young man who just made a big mistake in his life.\u003cbr/\u003eJay Williams is a former football player who now sells guns and estimates that more than half of N-F-L players are armed.\u003cbr/\u003eHe says Burress ignored some of the most basic rules of handling a gun.\u003cbr/\u003eSOT Williams\u003cbr/\u003eDo everything you can possibly do to know your weapon and the laws of your locale. You have to know the laws concerning firearms where you live. You have to obey those laws.\u003cbr/\u003eBurress is facing two counts of illegal weapons possession and authorities are looking to see if he or anyone else broke any other laws when he shot himself in the leg at a Manhattan club Saturday morning.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Brady Campaign to prevent Gun Violence is also speaking out.\u003cbr/\u003eIt's spokesman says Burress should be thankful he was the only one hit.\u003cbr/\u003eSOT Doug Pennington Brady Campaign\u003cbr/\u003eI think what it shows to the American people at large are the risks to carrying a concealed weapon in public. Mr. Burress not only wounded himself but the other patrons in the bar that he was with were also at risk. Luckily nobody else was hit.\u003cbr/\u003eIt's a point Williams and Pennington agree on and Williams says he urges his clients to get well accustomed to their weapon.\u003cbr/\u003eSOT Williams\u003cbr/\u003eWhen I have sold guns to players in the past the first thing I tell them is become proficient with your fire arm know your firearm. Know how to break it down, know hot to put it back together. Know the caliber of rounds it takes. Take classes.\u003cbr/\u003eWilliams teaches classes himself and has received a number of certificates from the N-R-A.\u003cbr/\u003eHe says he hopes Burress and all other professional athletes will
