Howe Brown expressing fear for their safety. \u003cbr/\u003eThe note came to light in court on Wednesday, after four U-S oil company employees were gunned down in an ambush in Karachi, Pakistan.\u003cbr/\u003eA group sympathetic to Kasi claimed responsibility for the killings and promised more if Kasi is sentenced to death.\u003cbr/\u003eAccording to trial testimony, Kasi made several confessions, each time saying the killing was vengeance for American meddling in Muslim countries.\u003cbr/\u003eA prosecutor said Kasi was a merciless killer who was proud of his crime and deserved to die.\u003cbr/\u003eA clinical psychologist testified Kasi told him his only regret was not dying himself in a shootout with F-B-I agents who arrested him in Pakistan in June.\u003cbr/\u003eDefense lawyer Judith Barger said Kasi, 33, should get life in prison because while the killing is inexcusable, it is partly explained by brain damage Kasi suffered at birth.\u003cbr/\u003eDuring three days of testimony in the punishment phase of the trial, doctors testified for the defense that the frontal lobe of Kasi's brain shows evidence of damage.\u003cbr/\u003eKasi, who was never violent before the killings, would get along well in prison and may be able to get treatment, she said.\u003cbr/\u003eJudge Brown ordered the jury sequestered for the first time Wednesday night. \u003cbr/\u003eThey were isolated in an unidentified hotel, kept under armed guard. \u003cbr/\u003eThey returned Thursday under heavy police escort.\u003cbr/\u003eOutside the courthouse, Kasi's older brother, Mir Weis Kasi, condemned the Karachi killings as the work of barbarous \"hidden forces\".\u003cbr/\u003eHe feared justice could not be served in the case, due to media speculation.\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English)\u003cbr/\u003e\"I, Mir Weis Kasi, on behalf of my family and clan strongly condemn the killings of four innocent U-S citizens in Karachi.
