They were butchered for their meat. And their skin is used for upholstering chairs. \u003cbr/\u003e0019 This home was clearly used as a slaughterhouse to supply the illegal wildlife trade. \u003cbr/\u003e0023 Three hundred kilos of snake products were also confiscated, (pause) along with several python skins. \u003cbr/\u003e0037 The house's owner, one of four people arrested, said Chinese restaurants in Bangkok buy some of the products. \u003cbr/\u003e0045 For this king cobra, and its young, the raid came not a moment too soon. They would have been next, along with 36 pythons who were also rescued.  A dozen others were found dead. Both species are protected under Thai law but many Asians see snake as a delicacy and as an aphrodisiac. \u003cbr/\u003e0105  For this water snake it's a happy ending...but the illegal trade continues
