Various of record shop\u003cbr/\u003eStruggling underground musicians in Iran are trying to promote their songs through the Internet and web blogs.\u003cbr/\u003eMany of these 'bedroom rockers' are dreaming of making it 'big' and releasing records in their country.\u003cbr/\u003eStruggling musicians in Iran's capital Tehran are busy recording their own interpretations of Rock, Hip Hop, and Electronic music -  all thanks to an extensive network of small bands.\u003cbr/\u003eThese little-known bands meet in bedrooms and basements, where they create music influenced by a wide variety of Western genres.\u003cbr/\u003eSome of these musicians have access to well stocked music shops, specialised in catering for the more demanding musicians.\u003cbr/\u003eHere they can buy some of the latest guitars and electronic instruments available on the market.\u003cbr/\u003eOne band meeting in a graffiti covered basement for a rehearsal session is electro-rock group, 'UP'.\u003cbr/\u003eUP uses laptops and samplers to give them their distinctly electronic sounding music.\u003cbr/\u003eAlso images are projected on a large screen in time with their songs.\u003cbr/\u003eShams is the bass player with the group.\u003cbr/\u003eHe says their music is all about how they feel and what they care about.\u003cbr/\u003eDespite a distinct lack of audiences, the struggling band seem happy enough to play in their basement.\u003cbr/\u003eAll of the UP's psychedelic visual graphics are created by Abtin.\u003cbr/\u003eHe says their aim is to promote the effects of global warming and hopefully change the public's attitudes.\u003cbr/\u003eAs with many underground bands, UP are only known to a small handful of friends and fans.\u003cbr/\u003eOnce the rehearsal is over, it is off to the sound engineer's bedroom, that also doubles as a recording studio.\u003cbr/\u003eHere they produce many of their electronic effects on a specialised computer programme.\u003cbr/\u003eArash is charge of the band's electronic sound.\u003cbr/\u003eHe says the reason they're not famous is because they have no way to let people listen to their music.\u003cbr/\u003eIn Iran each new recorded song needs to be approved by government authorities, so it can be legally published.\u003cbr/\u003eEven once this hurdle is overcome, the struggling musicians need to convince local record companies to listen to their music.\u003cbr/\u003eRegardless of the difficulties faced by the young musicians, they are determined to continue to make music and try to make it big.\u003cbr/\u003eAn other Tehran-based band struggling for recognition are the 'Freekeys'.\u003cbr/\u003ePouya is the band's guitarist and lead singer.\u003cbr/\u003eHe says despite the difficulties they face, underground musicians will continue to make music.\u003cbr/\u003eFor now very few underground musicians have been able to market their records in music shops.\u003cbr/\u003eHowever many of the musicians are finding recognition
