Various of demonstrators being pushed back\u003cbr/\u003eHundreds of students protesting France's new labour law marched through the streets of Paris on Friday before ending up at the Bastille square, where they blocked traffic with a peaceful \"sit-in.\" \u003cbr/\u003eRiot police used shields to move them out of the blocked area.  \u003cbr/\u003eNo one was reportedly injured in the confrontation.\u003cbr/\u003eThe demonstration came just a few hours ahead of French President Jacques Chirac's expected to announcement that he will enact the divisive new jobs law, standing by his loyal premier and risking more street protests that could darken his last year in office.\u003cbr/\u003eChirac, confronting one of the toughest tests of his 11-year presidency, was to make a televised address to the nation at 8 p.m. (1800 GMT) over the law passed by parliament and awaiting his signature.\u003cbr/\u003eThe law has fanned huge demonstrations and put violence across France in the world's headlines for the second time in four months - after riots at the end of last year. \u003cbr/\u003eOpponents urged Chirac to back down to avert more unrest.\u003cbr/\u003eThe law would create a new job contract, known as the CPE, that would allow a two-year trial period for workers under the age of 26, during which time companies could fire them for no reason.\u003cbr/\u003eThe government says the contract's firing flexibility will encourage hiring and help to curb youth unemployment. \u003cbr/\u003eStudents and labour unions fear it will erode job security, and they've led strikes, blockades of schools, roads and rail stations, and sometimes violent street marches to drive home their point.\u003cbr/\u003eTwo organisations of high school students urged others to gather at \"the main squares of the biggest cities\" a half-hour before Chirac speaks on Friday evening.\u003cbr/\u003eUnions have called for another day of strikes on Tuesday.\u003cbr/\u003eOn Thursday, a council of experts ruled the law constitutional, leaving Chirac the tough choice of what to do next. \u003cbr/\u003eChirac \"would carry a heavy responsibility by putting the law into effect. It would be an unacceptable show of force,\" 11 groups including the Socialist and Communist Parties said in a statement on Friday.\u003cbr/\u003eMany youths who have protested fear job market challenges from rising economies like India and China and hope to secure permanent, highly protected job contracts like the ones many of their parents
