floods.\u003cbr/\u003eHowever, the same weather system is generating a scorching heat wave in more south eastern parts of Europe.  \u003cbr/\u003eWeather forecasters are predicting a continuation of the unseasonable summer weather in the United Kingdom this weekend, forecasting moderate to torrential rainfall. \u003cbr/\u003eMany of the residents that have not yet recovered from previous floods will now be facing the possible risk of more disaster.  \u003cbr/\u003eA large slow-moving area of low pressure is expected to develop over Thursday night, settling over south-east England.\u003cbr/\u003eStephen Davenport is the Senior Meteorologist at MeteoGroup UK.\u003cbr/\u003eHe says that on average England can expect 30-40 mm (1.18- 1.57 inches) of rain.  \u003cbr/\u003eDavenport predicts that southeast England will receive the brunt of the bad weather.\u003cbr/\u003eWhile England has been soaked Davenport says that much of southeast Europe has been experiencing extremely high temperatures. \u003cbr/\u003eHe says the temperatures have soared above summer averages, reaching nearly 48 degrees Celsius (118 degrees Fahrenheit).\u003cbr/\u003eDavenport says England's soggy weather and southern Europe's scorching summer are all caused by the same weather system.\u003cbr/\u003eHe says that the low pressure has settled on top of the United Kingdom, feeding the hot south westerly air streams over Europe.\u003cbr/\u003eLow pressure means weak wind and that means that rain lingers overhead longer\u003cbr/\u003eA large, slow-moving area of low pressure is expected to develop close to south-east England early Friday, and then drift northwards across the North Sea.\u003cbr/\u003eIt is expected that this will result in warm and moist air across much of of southern Britain. \u003cbr/\u003eAt the same time, much colder air in the upper atmosphere will overspread the moist air. \u003cbr/\u003eThis combination is conducive to the development of heavy rain and thunderstorms.\u003cbr/\u003eNormally thunderstorms move fairly quickly, however the weak winds predicted this weekend means that the areas of rain and thunderstorms are expected to be slow-moving.\u003cbr/\u003eIn July 2006, all the talk was of drought and summer sunshine.\u003cbr/\u003eHowever Davenport dismisses any suggestion that changes in the weather is a sign of global warming. \u003cbr/\u003eHe says weather is just weather and the United Kingdom's northerly location and variabilities in the Gulf Stream
