music teacher from Montreal, Quebec, waiting for a Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt, Germany, was not impressed with the stated reason for the delay.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I come from Quebec, so snow is not a reason for me,\" he said.\u003cbr/\u003eMeanwhile, British officials promised an inquiry into the failure to clear the remnants of a storm that dumped five inches over parts of England on Saturday morning. \u003cbr/\u003eForecasters have said Britain is experiencing some of the most severe winter weather in a century, with continued freezing temperatures and more snow on Monday afternoon and evening. \u003cbr/\u003eExperts said the extreme winter weather may be related to climate change due to global warming. \u003cbr/\u003eWith a warmer climate, there's more moisture in the air, which makes storms including blizzards more intense.\u003cbr/\u003eHeathrow airport operator BAA said swings in temperature after the five-inch snowfall in one hour Saturday led to extensive ice buildup around aircraft on the ground and \"every available\" staff member and several hundred additional contractors were trying to get the airport moving again.\u003cbr/\u003eBut BAA offered little hope of relief, saying a maximum one-third of scheduled flights would be allowed to take off and land at Heathrow until at least 6.0 am (0600 GMT) on Wednesday. \u003cbr/\u003eThe British government approved a temporary lifting of a ban on night-flights at Heathrow in an effort to shift the backlog, but officials warned it may take until after Christmas to do so, and longer if more snow falls.\u003cbr/\u003eThe capital's smaller airport, Gatwick, announced late on Monday that there will be no outbound flights until Tuesday morning because more snow was expected. \u003cbr/\u003eOther
