Normally the experiments were made even though they were unnecessary, and then they were sent to Birkenhau to the gas chamber.\"\u003cbr/\u003eSUPER CAPTION: Dr. Hans Muench\u003cbr/\u003eIn the 'Der Spiegel' article, Muench is quoted as saying he could only \"speak the best\" about Mengele, who arrived at Auschwitz on the same day as Muench in the summer of 1943.\u003cbr/\u003eMengele, known as the Nazi \"Angel of Death,\" conducted experiments on Jewish inmates at Auschwitz, including injections in their eyes to try to change the colour.\u003cbr/\u003eMuench said it was his job to analyse material Mengele sent to him.\u003cbr/\u003eThe magazine article said Muench showed no remorse for working at Auschwitz.\u003cbr/\u003eBut Muench said he had many arguments with Mengele, while his daughter criticised the 'Der Spiegel' article.\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (German)\u003cbr/\u003e\"I had nothing against Mengele when we were in Auschwitz, but I had many arguments with him, although not in this area (of the experiments).\"\u003cbr/\u003eSUPER CAPTION: Dr. Hans Muench\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (German)\u003cbr/\u003e\"People believe 'Der Spiegel'.
