Various of Vogue Hattie Stewart prints, including shot of woman taking pictures \u003cbr/\u003eA total revamp of preconceived ideas about Graphic Art is on display at central London's Somerset House.\u003cbr/\u003eFrom art tattoo parlours and artistic nail painting to traditional prints, cards, T-shirts, posters and even toys, ceramics and videos, the Graphic Art Festival showcases the hottest young new talent from around world.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe UK's Pick Me Up festival celebrates contemporary graphic art, design and illustration, packing together the most exciting up and coming international talent.\u003cbr/\u003eThe majority of the graphic artists showcasing their creations here are in their mid twenties and the show is as refreshing as their average age. \u003cbr/\u003eJarrod Hennis is one of the five members of the \"Fatherless \" collective from the US.  \u003cbr/\u003eHe explains they found a post on social media about  the show, submitted their application form and were invited to participate. \u003cbr/\u003eThey raised 7-thousand US dollars (5-thousand pounds) through fundraising in their hometown of Rockford, Illinois,  to pay for their trip to London.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Fatherless\" has devised a collection of prints uniquely for London, which cost an average 60 pounds (80 US dollars.)\u003cbr/\u003e\"So, as the week goes on, you will see new staff popping up on the wall that's, you know, totally unique just to London and it will only be printed in London,\" he says, \u003cbr/\u003eFirst impressions on the opening day of the London festival are good. \u003cbr/\u003eCaroline Andres, a visitor from France, is impressed at the interactive nature of the show:\u003cbr/\u003e\"The workshops, meeting the artists who seem to be quite young, and generally to see who is behind the works of art.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe 11-day extravaganza comprises creative workshops, late-night art and music mash ups, family events and sales.\u003cbr/\u003eIn the Open Studio, screen printer and graphic designer Oliver Fowler from the London Print Club shows visitors the techniques of high quality printing\u003cbr/\u003eIt requires precision, speed and strength.\u003cbr/\u003eVisitors can choose from an array of original black and white outlines, learn to print them and them colour them as they please.\u003cbr/\u003eBritish art student  Natalie Lukes was sent here by her graphic art tutor and has had a field trip so far. \u003cbr/\u003e\"I've learnt a lot because I'm interested in printmaking, and there's quite a few different techniques and I didn't necessarily think of doing mixed media on it, putting some newspaper in and all that, but I'm quite interested to try that out now.\" \u003cbr/\u003eShe's also bought a T-shirts from collective Coffee Club for �15 pounds. Most pieces on display at the show range from 10 to 100 pounds, although original prints can cost up to several thousands\u003cbr/\u003eThe idea, say the organisers, is to make all these kind of disciplines really accessible to the public. \u003cbr/\u003eIt is the 4th year of the festival and last year there were over 15-thousand visitors. \u003cbr/\u003eKarishma Rafferty, is a member of the curatorial team at Somerset House.\u003cbr/\u003eShe explains the show evolves every year to reflect the latest industry trends:\u003cbr/\u003e\"I think people are much less about 2D and much more cross discipline as time goes on, so you see quite often illustrators turning to products design, having  like 3D solutions to work. You see graphic designers doing the same, you see them experimenting with motion as well as print, so I think it's a reflection of the industry, really.\"\u003cbr/\u003eOne such innovation of this year's edition is the works of south London collective Day Job.\u003cbr/\u003eDay Job was formed a year ago by 10 British art graduates. \u003cbr/\u003eTheir installation is filled wall-to-wall with visual curiosities such as handmade books and toys and a screen streaming animations. \u003cbr/\u003eCharlotte Mei, one of their members, explains, how the collective works creatively. \u003cbr/\u003e\"There are people who do primarily animation, primarily fabric, textiles, things like that,. running an eclectic mix of events. \u003cbr/\u003eYou can get your nails panted here by one of the show's artists or a temporary art tattoo for the modest sum of �5 pounds (7 US dollars).\u003cbr/\u003eUpcoming events include the Children's Choice Weekend with Shaun-the- Sheep model-making workshops from the award animation studio Aardman or cheeky comedy cartoons from the Modern Toss.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Art Fair also includes one section dedicated to the Pick Me Up \"Selects\", literally a selection of the best 17 up and coming international graphic artists who are showcasing and selling work specially commissioned for the festival. \u003cbr/\u003eFlemish Belgian artist Sarah Vanbelle, from Antwerp, was delighted when she was approached by the panel of experts and asked to participate.\u003cbr/\u003eShe hopes this will be the beginning of an adventure.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I hope to meet with lots of the illustrators and hopefully I'll get other assignments from outside Belgium and (maybe) I can work more in bigger illustration projects and maybe take part in other exhibitions.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThis year includes Paris-born but London-based illustrator Malika
