It's a hard thing, a battle that's constantly waged you know and never really completely won. But that's what I love about it, is the idea that we have to find ways to be inclusive. And I think that Hollywood has succeeded and failed at that intermittently and my job as a filmmaker was not specifically to do that -- it was for a couple of films. We're a country of Christians and Jews and Muslims and that our job is to protect each one of their rights. I think that when we get in trouble is when we get scared.\"\u003cbr/\u003e9. Or he might have been a broadcast journalist like the man seated a few feet away from him on Wednesday night in New York City. \u003cbr/\u003eClooney received the Walter Cronkite Faith and Freedom Award, presented by one of America's icons, the newsman himself, Walter Cronkite. Cronkite is a long time friend of Clooney's parents. \u003cbr/\u003eClooney's father Nick was a TV anchor who ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 2004. And George himself studied journalism before turning his attention to acting. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Oscar winner received the award from The Interfaith Alliance, a non-partisan religious liberty organisation who each year recognises those who \"advance democratic values, defend religious liberty and reinvigorate civic participation.\"\u003cbr/\u003eClooney was honoured for his leadership in the film industry, for films such as Good Night and Good Luck, and for his humanitarian efforts including his work in Darfur. \u003cbr/\u003eWhen asked if he thought it was incumbent on the entertainment industry to make moral inroads rather than just entertain, Clooney said he thought it was really up to the individual and said that it wasn't the entertainment industry's role to
