All the textiles are organic and because they're organic they fall apart easily. But for the most part they were very well preserved,\" said Alejandra Lopez, an art restorer.\u003cbr/\u003eSome of the clothing had minor tearing that was fixed and dirty items had to be washed, but at least 80 percent was in good condition, according to Lopez. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Associated Press got a sneak peek at some of the pieces, which go on display on 22 November in an exhibition sponsored by Vogue Mexico.  \u003cbr/\u003eKahlo graced dinner parties and theatres from Paris to New York with her trademark ribbon braids and heavy eyebrows, and she wasn't afraid to make a fashion statement with her clothing choices.\u003cbr/\u003e\"She would show up wearing dresses that were indigenous pieces. Could you imagine arriving at a dinner with nothing, but people dressed in suits and evening gowns...? She had tremendous self-confidence,\" Lopez said. \u003cbr/\u003eOver the decades, her look would become as influential as her art, capturing the imagination of everyone from Madonna to French designer Jean Paul Gaultier.\u003cbr/\u003eThere are Youtube tutorials on how to braid your hair like Kahlo and Vogue Australia last spring let readers know where to shop for Frida-like skirts and jewelry.\u003cbr/\u003e\"She built this shocking style out of the convictions she had... she's a female artist, during the 40s. It's a more bohemian style of dress, it's a very Mexican dress, and for her that's what mattered, projecting that; what others thought was beside the point,\" said exhibition curator Circe Henestrosa.\u003cbr/\u003eKahlo's clothing was also her ally in disguising her physical disabilities. She suffered a broken back in a tram accident when she was young, and her right leg was also significantly smaller than her left because she suffered polio as a child. \u003cbr/\u003eThe long, full skirts hid a tiny, thin right leg and loose blouses covered the hard corsets she wore for back pain.\u003cbr/\u003eKahlo's turbulent life, that included the countless affairs of husband muralist Diego Rivera, her miscarriages, the assassination of her lover, Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky, has inspired plays and films, including the 2002 \"Frida,\" starring Salma Hayek. \u003cbr/\u003eBack in her lifetime though, she was just Mrs. Rivera.\u003cbr/\u003eIt wasn't until the 1980s, when Hayden Herrera wrote the biography that people outside the artists' circles began to discover and
