There are some geysers that erupt almost continuously and you're right, its very similar to steam venting in a hydrothermal or geothermal area on the earth. Only the difference here is that these things are venting into the vacuum and cool of space. So, the result is that these things actually, we believe, the water beneath the surface is right at the freezing point, basically just right at 0 degrees celsius or 32 degrees Fahrenheit.\"\u003cbr/\u003e5. Energy sources are also important and the energy sources heating up the water give us an indication that there's energy there. You also want to have the chemical building blocks for life, that is molecules made out of carbon, or what we call organic compounds. And, in fact, the spectrometer systems on board the spacecraft looking at the surface have identified simple hydrocarbon signatures in some of the areas around these vents. tantalising possibility that the celestial object harbours life.\u003cbr/\u003eThe surprising images from the moon Enceladus represent some of the most dramatic evidence yet that water in liquid form may be present beyond the Earth.\u003cbr/\u003eExcited by the discovery, some scientists said Enceladus should be added to the short list of places within the solar system most likely to have extraterrestrial life.\u003cbr/\u003eDr Torrence Johnson, a Cassini scientist from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California, said this marks the first time that scientists have seen evidence of water in liquid form so close to the surface on another body beyond Earth.\u003cbr/\u003eAccording to Dr Johnson, this water is released from the south pole surface of Enceladus, much like \"Old Faithful.\"\u003cbr/\u003eCassini recently snapped high-resolution images showing geyser-like eruptions of ice particles and water vapour at Enceladus' south pole. \u003cbr/\u003eThe pictures do not actually show any water in liquid form, but scientists believe the ice and vapour must be coming from underground reservoirs of water close to the surface.\u003cbr/\u003eIf Enceladus does harbour
