the OAS (Organisation of American States), over neighbouring Colombia's spraying of the herbicide glyphosate along the border between the two countries.\u003cbr/\u003e\"The issue about the aerial foreign ministers of Ecuador and Colombia on December 7th of 2005,\" he told the OAS Assembly in Washington.\u003cbr/\u003eAll 35 independent nations of the Americas are members of the OAS, which, according to its website, aims to bring together the nations of the Western Hemisphere to strengthen co-operation on democratic values, defend common interests and debate the major issues facing the region and the world.\u003cbr/\u003eColombian Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Camilo Reyes, hit back describing Carrion's remarks as inappropriate for the OAS forum.\u003cbr/\u003e\"This is a problems.\u003cbr/\u003eThe dispute prompted Ecuadorian President-elect Rafael Correa to cancel a visit to Bogota. \u003cbr/\u003eCorrea has insisted that Colombia pay Ecuador an unspecified monetary reparation as \"a moral sanction\" for damage, it claims, is caused by the spraying.\u003cbr/\u003eCocaine shipments to Europe from Colombia - the world's largest producer of the drug - have risen sharply of late, despite efforts by Colombian authorities to clamp down on the drug trade.\u003cbr/\u003eColombia is seeking more European aid for projects to help peasant farmers switch from coca to legal crops like tropical fruits, coffee and rubber.\u003cbr/\u003eAlso on Tuesday, Colombia's police chief said the government would continue to fumigate the country's crops of coca, the plant used growers had swarmed into the area.\u003cbr/\u003eUnder the protection of US-supplied Black Hawk helicopters, Colombia's anti-narcotic police sprayed a record 450,000 acres (181,107 hectares) of coca
