The size 3 stilettos, costing  £1 million (around $1.5US) have 642 oval rubies totalling 120 carats, set in platinum thread. \u003cbr/\u003eThe shoes, which went on sale in Harrods yesterday , are inspired by the ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland as Dorothy in 'the film 'The Wizard of Oz'. \u003cbr/\u003eUS designer Stuart Weitzman intended an Oscar nominated actress to wear them at this year's ceremony; but when the event was scaled down due to the War in Iraq, this plan was cancelled. \u003cbr/\u003eThe shoes have made in a miniature Size 3, but the designer has promised to remake them to which ever size the buyer requires. Should they tire of their purchase, the shoes can also be transformed into a matching jewellery set.\u003cbr/\u003eA limited number of copies are also available at the bargain price of £250
