Kasuri at presser\u003cbr/\u003ePakistan's foreign minister said on Friday that it was in the interest of world peace to dispel the myth that the the US went to war with Iraq in order to control Iraqi oil. \u003cbr/\u003eSpeaking to a conservative think tank as he continued his visit to Washington, Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri said those who opposed the US war with Iraq believe the US was \"after Iraqi oil.\"\u003cbr/\u003eHe said if the US and its allies could dissolve that impression, they will have much more support and assistance as they move forward in Iraq.\u003cbr/\u003eWith regard to his own country sending troops, Kasuri said the people of Pakistan would not support the sending of troops to take part in an occupation.\u003cbr/\u003eHe said Pakistan \"would never shy away\" from its international responsibilities, and has played a \"major\" role in the war on terrorism, but it \"must be mindful of the sentiments of its own people.\"\u003cbr/\u003eKasuri said if the interim Iraqi government, which is expected to regain control of Iraq on July 1st following a US handover of sovereignty, asked Pakistan to play a role and send troops, the circumstances might be different.  \u003cbr/\u003eMeanwhile, on relations with India, Kasuri praised outgoing Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for acknowledging his government would have to \"make changes\" to its position on Kashmir in order to have lasting peace.\u003cbr/\u003eKasuri said the incoming Congress Party has made \"promising statements\" on the issue of Kashmir, and added he had no reason to
