In accordance with  to U-N resolution 981 the U-N forces stationed in the disputed area known as the Krajina will no longer be known as...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eEnglish/Nat\u003cbr/\u003eThe first signs in the change of the U-N presence in Croatia became visible on Friday.  \u003cbr/\u003eIn accordance with  to U-N resolution 981 the U-N forces stationed in the disputed area known as the Krajina will no longer be known as the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) but as UNCRO or United Nations in Croatia. \u003cbr/\u003eBut their mission remains basically the same - trying to keep the peace in the area which is claimed by the Croatian government but occupied by rebel Serb forces.\u003cbr/\u003eSo far it's just the UNPROFOR insignias disappearing, being replaced with the \"UN\" insignia like here at the main gate of the U-N forces headquarters in Zagreb.\u003cbr/\u003eBoth warring factions are very sensitive to the whole naming question and one of the first steps is to change the number plates of all U-N vehicles.  No U-N car can leave or enter the U-N camp at Zagreb airport without the cosmetic change. For the time being the plates are simply sprayed over.\u003cbr/\u003eBut at the \"Decor\" factory in Zagreb, the press is running hot to produce hundred of new number plates.\u003cbr/\u003eAlthough there are still no UNCRO insignia being put out, plans are being implemented to produce new insignia. The U-N in the meantime hopes that both sides will show some flexibility.\u003cbr/\u003eWell, clearly the name is an extremely sensitive issue, because - as the Krajina Serbs would argue - it prejudges the political outcome. having said that, our instructions are clear, and the force is to be known as \"UNCRO\".
