collection called \"On/Off the Wall\", said that every piece was made from \"concrete canvases\" cut from untouched pieces of the wall that secured the no man's land between East and West Berlin.\u003cbr/\u003eThe pieces of virgin concrete, measuring 100cm by 120cm (39 by 47 inches) were given to international artists such as Eduardo Chillida, Arman, Daniel Buren and Sol Lewitt, who then created paintings and sculptures using the material.\u003cbr/\u003eVerger said that around half of the works were commissioned in 1990, just a year after the Berlin Wall came down in 1989. \u003cbr/\u003eThe rest were created to mark the 10th and 20th anniversaries of the fall of the wall.\u003cbr/\u003eVerger began collecting the pieces in 1990 and has exhibited the works in various
