Close-up of cakes in window display, owner places Santa Claus figure next to cakes\u003cbr/\u003eEvery year at the beginning of December a pastry shop in Istanbul bakes and sells a festive cake especially for its German customers who come seeking a taste from home in the weeks before Christmas.\u003cbr/\u003eChristollen is a popular treat in Germany and has been part of the Christmas tradition for more than half a century.\u003cbr/\u003eThe loaf-shaped cake contains almonds, raisins, marzipan and lemon peel and is coated with powdered sugar.\u003cbr/\u003eOne customer sat down with a slice of the cake and told AP Television: I'm happy because it's Christmas and now I can eat Christollen, it tastes very good.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe owner of Burc and Lebon pastry shop, Abdurrahman Cengiz said it was his German customers who first gave him the idea of baking the cake and its popularity has grown ever since.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We have a lot of German customers besides the other nationalities. People are coming to buy Christollen cakes after hearing from the others,\" he said.\u003cbr/\u003eMonica Beli, a German teacher working in Turkey, said the cake tasted exactly the same as in
