scientists in Israel say they have developed a way that everyone can be heard clearly no matter what  the situation. \u003cbr/\u003eResearchers at Haifa's Technion Israel Institute of Technology, say they have found a way to eliminate mobile (cell) phone background noise from phone conversations. \u003cbr/\u003eProfessor Motti Segev and his colleagues Tzvi Katz and Dr. Rami Aharoni have developed an optical microphone that allows the speaker to be heard clearly against the most deafening background noise. \u003cbr/\u003eSegev says the microphone can pick up tiny vibrations with the body and then isolate speech so only the person's words are transmitted. \u003cbr/\u003eA working model showed that it filtered out almost all background noises, leaving only one per 1,000. \u003cbr/\u003eThe microphone also eliminates sudden noises that cannot be filtered out by systems based on computer programmes. \u003cbr/\u003eAccording to the researchers, the microphone makes it much easier to understand the caller's words in a noisy environment and it won't be possible to tell where you are speaking from. \u003cbr/\u003eThe device could also have applications for use on the battlefield for communications, in factories, at sporting events or concerts.   \u003cbr/\u003eSegev and his team have registered a patent on the device, and three patents have been applied for in the US.
