city, to spend some great time together in a natural environment.\u003cbr/\u003eFor all pet dogs tired of their daily walks and routine physical exercise around crammed urban spaces, a Mumbai-based group is offering weekend retreats on lush hills and open green spaces.\u003cbr/\u003eCrazy K9 Campers group brings together pet dogs and their owners to spend quality time together, through weekend camps.\u003cbr/\u003ePuja Sathe, a dog trainer, has been organising such camps for the last five years.\u003cbr/\u003eFifteen dogs, including labradors, dobermans and pugs participated in the two day camp recently held at Karjat, on the outskirts of Mumbai.\u003cbr/\u003eThe camp was surrounded by lush green hills, a river on three sides, and lots of open space for the pets to run free.\u003cbr/\u003eSathe says there is not a lot a place in the city for pets to do the activities they deserve such as walking, swimming, playing and so on, and therefore the pet camp is an ideal place for owners and their pets to enjoy natural activities together. \u003cbr/\u003eThe retreat provided the canines a great holiday, complete with fun activities and games, trekking, tricks training and even a swimming pool.\u003cbr/\u003eThe games included owners sharing biscuits with their dogs and making them fetch their favourite toy.\u003cbr/\u003eThe concept has found many followers among dog lovers and pet-owners.\u003cbr/\u003eWith restrictions on using public spaces for pets and the danger of letting them loose on crowded city roads, the owners say the weekend camps are ideal for letting the dogs be dogs and enjoy their freedom.\u003cbr/\u003eShayna Arumugam, a pet owner, says that in Bombay, parks access are often restricted to dogs which makes difficult walking them around in natural environment; owners who can only take their pets around the street are very delighted with the weekend camp.\u003cbr/\u003eThe picnic also included a trip to the river where the dogs, who are natural swimmers, were allowed to romp around in water. \u003cbr/\u003eA gala birthday party for a dog was also organised where the pets got to socialise and eat their favourite food.\u003cbr/\u003eThe pet camps are held once in two months and the fee varies from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000 ( about $50 US Dollars), depending on the place and activities of the
