Minister walks from microphone into waiting limousine\u003cbr/\u003eSouth Korea's Defence Minister, Yoon Kwang Ung, on Thursday praised his country's strong military alliance with the United States and said he was confident the relationship would help South Korea counter threats from its northern neighbour. \u003cbr/\u003eHe spoke after meeting US Secretary of State Colin Powell for talks in Washington DC on the redeployment of US troops in South Korea and the six party talks aimed at resolving the nuclear issue with North Korea.\u003cbr/\u003eYoon has met several high-ranking officials of the Bush administration, including Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Bush administration has been questioning the status of the six party talks and why there has not been a recent round of meetings.\u003cbr/\u003eDemocratic presidential candidate John Kerry has said he would hold bilateral talks with North Korea, as well as continuing to negotiate on the six party talk level.\u003cbr/\u003ePresident George W.
