Since then he has been fighting to clear his name.\u003cbr/\u003eFrom his hilltop home outside the capital Caracas, Carlos Andres Perez continues his long campaign to prove he is innocent of charges that he misused $17 million in government funds.\u003cbr/\u003eAfter 69 days in jail, he returned to his spacious hilltop home in July 1994 when defence lawyers persuaded a court that it was unconstitutional to deny house arrest privileges to a man of his age.\u003cbr/\u003eSince then Perez has been fighting to clear his name. Some months ago, he came up with the idea of using the internet to tell the world his side of the story.\u003cbr/\u003eAfter months of indecision, Venezuela's Supreme Court is expected to rule next month.
