Tilt down of old computers.\u003cbr/\u003eViruses, worms, trojans, and spyware are all terms that most computer users are familiar with.\u003cbr/\u003eThese computer infections slow us down, but in Kenya they are mushrooming and halting technological progress.\u003cbr/\u003eHappily working at the computer. \u003cbr/\u003eIn developed countries there have been developments to master the threat of computer viruses. \u003cbr/\u003eBut here, computer infections, lack of proper cyber legislation laws, pirated software and super slow download speeds have led to Africa becoming a breeeding ground for malicious computer malware (short for malicious software).\u003cbr/\u003eViruses are software programs capable of reproducing themselves and usually capable of causing great harm, corrupting and even deleting files.\u003cbr/\u003eIn some cases, viruses can cause entire operating systems to fail.\u003cbr/\u003eMoses Ouma, a graphic designer in Nairobi, is a victim of the desolation caused by viruses in Africa, after having all his hard drive work data corrupted and deleted by a virus.\u003cbr/\u003e\"As a person I think viruses have done much harm. computer users around Africa. \u003cbr/\u003eMany have had to make due with free software that does little to solve the pillaged machines.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Actually, computers are actually becoming a hindrance to the progress in Africa, than actually being a help mainly because there is lack of proper legislation by governments and this actually needs to be one of the main tools that the governments should address or the main issue that the government should address to ensure that the issue of cyber security is addressed and there is more confidence is use of internet and computers.\" Says Ephraim Njoroge, an ICT specialist.\u003cbr/\u003ePoverty, underdevelopment, corruption and lack of proper guidelines to address cyber crime in Africa has left many despairing or in the grips of computer rage, while the PC repair business continues to flourish.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Even though computer viruses are a burden to us, actually they are a nuisance to us, in a way they keep us in business in that, every time clients bring their computer affected by viruses, to be cleaned, to be repaired and fixed and in the course of that we get income.\" Says Hezbon Wandera, a computer
