The guitar is thought to hold the record for having been played on more hits songs than any other in rock history.\u003cbr/\u003eOther items include a Gibson Chet Atkins Standard guitar, valued at £2,000 - £3,000, given to Moman by country star Willie Nelson after he helped record the star's best-selling LP \"Always on My Mind.\"\u003cbr/\u003eMoman was a founder of Stax Records, one of the most important record companies in the R\u0026amp;B and Soul history. Following his departure from Stax circa 1963, Moman set up the American Recording Studio in Memphis, one of the most successful studios in the late 1960's and early 1970's.\u003cbr/\u003eArtists who recorded at American during this time included DUSTY SPRINGFIELD, DIONNE WARWICK and PETULA CLARK, but the most famous sessions were undoubtably those with Elvis Presley (his pal) held during February and March 1969.  Chips produced these sessions which produced massive worldwide hits such as IN THE GHETTO and SUSPICIOUS MINDS and the album, FROM ELVIS IN MEMPHIS.\u003cbr/\u003eOther guitars include a 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard in sunburst finish, given to chips by Dickie Betts of the Alman Brothers Band in the early 1980's, valued at £20,000 £30,000.
