Wide of Vatican \u003cbr/\u003eThe city of Rome has been plastered with posters for a controversial film that has infuriated the Vatican.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe Da Vinci Code, adapted by director Ron Howard from Dan Brown's worldwide best seller, questions Jesus' divinity and makes the case that he married Mary Magdalene and had children with her.\u003cbr/\u003eThe story has sparked anger over its portrayal of the origins of Christianity.  \u003cbr/\u003eAt the Vatican some Cardinals have called for a boycott, others have implied the film-makers should be taken to court.  Nevertheless buses covered with posters for the film pass by St. Peter's Basilica every day.\u003cbr/\u003eAfter complaints from the Catholic church, a huge poster for the film that was placed on a church down the street from the Vatican was covered in black.\u003cbr/\u003eThe much-awaited movie was scheduled to open the Cannes film festival on Wednesday.\u003cbr/\u003eThe book is particularly hard on the Catholic organisation Opus Dei.\u003cbr/\u003eOn Wednesday, the Bishop who heads the organisation delivered a statement at the Opus Dei Rome headquarters.\u003cbr/\u003eBishop Javier Echevarria has adopted the position that they need to take advantage of the increased interest in the Opus Dei, as a result of the film, to clarify misunderstandings about the organisation.\u003cbr/\u003eWithout directly referring to the film's premier, in a statement Echevarria noted that he was particularly happy on Wednesday for several reasons.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Today coincides with the anniversary of the beatification of Saint Jose Maria Escriva' (founder of Opus Dei), who was a giant in the history of the 20th century,\" he said.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Opus Dei has complained that Sony Pictures, which produced this film, refused its request to put a disclaimer on the movie labelling it as fiction.  \u003cbr/\u003eIt also criticised Sony's advertising campaign for the film, which included the slogan, \"Seek the Truth.\"\u003cbr/\u003eAlso on Wednesday, the Opus Dei invited the media to view one of their vocational schools in a working class section of Rome.\u003cbr/\u003eThe school uses the organisation's money to train young people in various professions, from chefs to electricians, and mechanics to computer experts.  \u003cbr/\u003eOne student attending the school said she had read the novel, but did not like it. started a \"Da Vinci Code\" blog on the internet to answer questions about the Opus Dei and to point out errors in the book and film. \u003cbr/\u003eHe said that whilst some Cardinals have called for a boycott, others are using the increased interest to educate those interested in Catholic Church. \"Those two reponses I think are complementary,\" he
