Harry Carlse walking with wife \u003cbr/\u003eTwo South Africans acquitted by a Zimbabwean court of plotting a coup in oil-rich Equatorial Guinea returned home Saturday, saying they had been tortured while imprisoned in Zimbabwe.\u003cbr/\u003eHarry Carlse and Lourens Horn were two of the suspected mercenaries arrested in Zimbabwe on March 7 and charged with planning to overthrow Equatorial Guinea's government.\u003cbr/\u003eBoth were among the 66 suspects cleared Friday by a Zimbabwean magistrate on firearms charges. A 67th suspect, Simon Mann, the alleged coup leader, was convicted of trying to buy weapons from Zimbabwe's state arms manufacturer and faces up to 10 years in prison.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Zimbabwe is a terrible place,\" Carlse told The Associated Press after arriving at Johannesburg International Airport on Saturday. \u003cbr/\u003eCarlse and Horn were greeted at the airport by a small group of friends and family - and a crowd of journalists.\u003cbr/\u003eBoth said they had been tortured while in Zimbabwe. Horn said he was stripped naked and beaten and during interrogations and threatened with electrocution if he did not answer questions.\u003cbr/\u003eThe men described living in a fetid Zimbabwean prison, where disease was rife and they were often denied water in their cells. \u003cbr/\u003e\"I've lost 10 kilograms (22.05 pounds),\" Carlse told reporters.\u003cbr/\u003eHe said Mann, the plot's alleged leader, was bearing the brunt of the torture. But \"he's strong,\" Carlse said. \"He's holding up as best he can.\"\u003cbr/\u003eZimbabwean officials were not immediately available for comment Saturday, but authorities in that country recently launched an investigation into allegations of torture at the prison where the men were held.\u003cbr/\u003eCarlse and Horn may still face charges in South Africa, said their lawyer, Alwyn Griebenow. He did not elaborate. \u003cbr/\u003eThe 64 others acquitted in Zimbabwe of taking part in the planned coup still face penalties for immigration and aviation violation and remain in custody in that
