Before being auctioned off, the items are on an international tour and arrived at their first stop, Hong Kong, on...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eA collection of art and jewelry belonging to the late Hollywood actress, Lauren Bacall, will be going under the hammer.  \u003cbr/\u003eBefore being auctioned off, the items are on an international tour and arrived at their first stop, Hong Kong, on Wednesday (14 JAN. 2015).    \u003cbr/\u003eThe collection features 750 items, including modern and contemporary art, antique furniture, sculpture, and jewelry - all acquired from Bacall's trips around the globe.  \u003cbr/\u003eAuction house Bonhams said that approximately five years ago, Bacall had wanted to place some items from her collection at auction.  \u003cbr/\u003eJon King, an executive from Bonhams, met with Bacall several times at her New York home,  where she gave him personal insights into her collection.  \u003cbr/\u003e\"We met every few weeks and the visits would last anywhere from three hours to seven hours. We would talk about what she had in the apartment, where she got it and why and what really appealed to her about them,\" recalls King. \u003cbr/\u003e\"There was a common theme throughout everything and it was that she loved things that were interesting.  She made a special attempt to meet the artist, whether it was a jeweler, whether it was a painter or whether it was a printer, because she wanted to find out the creative process behind the artwork, what it really meant to them.
