It's been under pressure because of the economic turmoil in Mexico, the third-largest  U.S. export market, and the belief that the U.S. Federal Reserve will not raise interest  rates.\u003cbr/\u003eOverseas traders say it's hard to find anyone buying dollars - when the markets are  jittery investors seek shelter in the perceived safety of strong currencies such as the  German mark.  \u003cbr/\u003eFinanciers are looking to the U.S. Federal Reserve for a solution to the dollar crisis to  ensure market confidence returns.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I think the markets will come to the realisation that the Federal Reserve will have to  increase interest rates at some point to defend the currency. The dollar is not a first  rate consideration for the U-S Fed, it doesn't have that direct a feed through to inflation  in the U-S and that is the Federal Reserve's ultimate concern. But they have to look to  preserving orderly market conditions.
