Wide of actors bow with audience giving a standing ovation\u003cbr/\u003e'CinderJutt' is the latest in a succession of comedy-musicals that are fast becoming the flavor of Karachi's theatre scene. The high-intensity song and dance numbers, borrowing generously from Bollywood, and slapstick humour that, at times, borders on the vulgar seems to have struck the right chord with the citizens of Karachi.  \u003cbr/\u003eBeing a musical, it relies heavily on dance numbers - thirteen in total - though the quantity rarely compromises the quality. The three months of practice put in by the choreography team is aptly rewarded as the ensemble performances achieve commendable synchronization and flair. It goes one better on the chemistry - among dancers in particular - as they routinely execute dance moves that are rarely part of such performances; and earned deserved plaudits from an appreciative audience.\u003cbr/\u003eThe show is directed by Javed Ahmed Saeedi who says his goal with the show is to just entertain.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Just to entertain people. Stage is first love. Stage is my passion so it feels awesome whenever I go onto the stage. The kind of energy that comes from the audience, it is very motivating. So that's my love and that's why I am doing theatre,\" he says about the role.\u003cbr/\u003eBut it was the dance ensemble and the choreography that had the audience enthralled. Even with their team of experienced and renowned choreographers - led by Veer Andrews, \"CinderJutt:'s greatest achievement has to be the fluidity in the performances of the entire cast.\u003cbr/\u003eDurdana Davies, who served as the assistant choreographer while also being part of all the dance numbers, has only praise for her young cast. \"As you said so, most of them are not professionally trained. And it was a tough task teaching them but they are really talented kids and they picked up very quick.\"\u003cbr/\u003eParkha Khan, an audience member, says she approves of the show's humour despite an excessive usage of innuendo - mostly sexual - and double entendres. \"The cast comprises mainly of youngsters so it's very energetic; and I think families are enjoying it. And even the calibre of the jokes, that's also on a good level.\"\u003cbr/\u003eMariam Siddiqui applauds the crew's attention to detail. \"The make-up was excellent; especially the dressing and everything.
